Great Horned Owl

Bubo virginianus

Description:

I believe this is a female because it was a rather large Owl, the ear tufts were smaller as well.

Habitat:

The Great Horned Owls are wide spread and have adapted to many different habitats. They are most often found in treed areas like forests, woodlands and shrublands.

Notes:

I would have loved to have gotten closer for a better picture but I did not want to spook her.
