Malaysian Pied Fantail

Rhipidura javanica

Habitat:

The local fishing community sell their catch, live crab, clams and dried fish, on the day we were there, to visitors coming to eat at the beachside restaurants. What they don't sell they dump at the back of the beach in the undergrowth, which obviously attracts insects. Easy pickings for this bird, unfortunately they also dump the rest of their garbage which includes polystyrene food trays.

Notes:

Possibly the same species as my earlier spotting, although not in exactly the same location, but the plummage is clearer for ident purposes
