Barred Owl

Strix varia

Notes:

I tracked this guy down after hearing him call back and forth to another barred owl. I had a better idea where his one was hiding, so I set off for the pines and spotted him about 5 minutes later. Unfortunately he was back in the thick of the pines and very high up so my photos are not the best. First barred owl spot of the year for me. I was very pleased.

Well done! I hear great horned owls nearly every evening but still haven't managed to track one down!
