Wingspan: 26-28mm Status: Not rare Distr.: India (South India up to Gujrat, orissa, West Bangal, Sikkim to Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast), Bangladesh, Shri Lanka.
Prefers mixed deciduous forests with good rainfall & plains as well as hills up to 900m. Weak, fluttering flight, keeps to undergrowth and clearings, usually near the larval food plants.
Adult: HW has tree tails. UN white to dark yellowish brown. UNF has irregular dark basal markings. curved white discal line and a broad, rich dark brown, apical patch. UNH with irregular dark spots and lines, and a silver marginal line, UP of both sexes dark brown; UPH with two black tornal spots and a narrow dark reddish band above and beyond them. LF: Ixora spp., and other plants belonging to Rubiaceae, Dipterocarpaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lortanthaceae, Sapindaceae an Myrtaceae. Found in Dahanu (Asawa fort), Maharashtra, India

You can edit your spottings. As a Ranger I can do correction work. No need to add Scientist's name with Binomial ID. It will raise the confusion as third name is reserved for sub-specie of races in same specie. You can check my Bird spottings mentioned races after Binomial ID.
