A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Well I guess now it's time for me to learn a bit about mosses and lavas... This one was growing together with other lavas and mosses on a tree stump (picture 2) , probably an old fir-stump, but I'm not really sure. I'd be happy if someone could help me identify the moss.

I'm going nuts about this... there are seven billion species that looks the same but got different names. I suspect it could be an Atrichum undulatum, beacuse they quite look the same. But I have to go down there again and have a closer look. Thank's for telling me about the Polytrichaceae, Lars!
It's worthy to upload any spotting - because it tells something about the density of species spread within a region.
And yes, the "silver fingers" are different to the cups. Load em up - I'll have an eye. (though I am no expert)
I think its most likely one of the Polytrichaceae mosses - the leaves are shaped star like and needely. This one's appears not very tall (most are between 4-8 cm height), which leads to the possibility of Polytrichum piliferum.
But you should look up the Polytrichaceae family yourself - you've been at site and the original in mind.
I did get closer to the lichens as well, but I wasnt sure if there were two species of them or just one in different ages. Therefor I just uploaded the "silver horns with red dots". I've still got the pic with the others that looks like silver fingers. Are they different, so I should upload them?
lol...funny is that you concentrated on the tiny spot of moss instead of the lichen jungle right in front of you :D
Yeah, tell me... to me they have all been just "moss" until I joined this site :D
No, that's a different one...can't tell the exact species - mosses are real tough.
