Saved this little guy from our house cat, never seen a Gecko around Melbourne before, had a flick through a field guide and thought it might be a marbled gecko?

..and these were possibly introduced to the Melbourne area from further north anyway. One theory is that they were brought south with the slate and stone cut for new buildings and then found the city to their liking. Nicely saved sir.

Well, as you pointed out, there aren't a lot of geckos that far south. I looked at the 6 or so species within range and compared them. I looked specifically at the shape of the toes and tail, and the overall body shape and color pattern. Christinus marmoratus looked like the species.
