Banded Malaysian Coral Snake

Calliophis intestinalis

Description:

Small snake to around 50 cms. Extremely venomous but shy and retiring. Variable colouring, this one black with red stripe on top, white underside with tell tail orange-red tail segment. Will often play dead to escape predators.

Habitat:

Forest areas and overgrown parks and gardens.
