crassula lycopodiodes
Life and mathematics. It looks like tetragonal symmetry (4-fold) but it is not. It is a helicoidal 2-fold axis, i.e., 180 degrees plus 1/2 translation. It is easier to see in picture 4 where half od the "leaves" are parallel and half perpendicular to the view. Crassula is a large genus of succulent plants containing many species, including the popular Jade Plant, Crassula ovata. Crassulas are usually propagated by stem or leaf cuttings. Most cultivated forms will tolerate some small degree of frost, but extremes of cold or heat will cause them to lose foliage and die.
They are native from South Africa (Namibia, Lesotho)
Notice that the flowers have pentagonal (5-fold) symmetry

Thanks
They are not so uncommon. You can find them in many houses, they are used as pot plants
That's so cool and amazing
Notice that the flowers have pentagonal (5-fold) symmetry!!! See the last picture
Thanks Karen, you are right. I put it in Life and Mathematics mission but it would fit better in a mission called natural abstract or something similar
Great photos - natural abstract art!
