Description:

Predator of small flying insects which it pursues with quick twists and turns. The captured insect is then beaten on a branch before being eaten. Very colorful bird that is found in urban and natural habitats.

Habitat:

Open woodlands, grasslands and other open areas of Australia. Nests in dug out tunnels.
