Spanish Terrapin; Tortuga

Mauremys leprosa

Description:

Tortuga is the Spanish generic name and covers Turtles, Terrapins and Tortoises. From what I can see they have feet, not flippers so are not Turtles. My guess is the shells may be about 6" across and 8" long.

Habitat:

Leaving a lake and climbing into a reed bed. I think the lake is freshwater as it is isolated from the sea but it may be brackish.
