This is a large cocoon measuring about 4" from top to bottom
900 meter elevation near Poas Volcano
Could be the same...they are both at nearly the same elevation. You can notice at the bottom of my foto that there is an exit/entrance....
It is actually not the cocoon, but the "home" of this caterpillar out of the family of Psychidae. Might be the same one as mine???
