Attached to rocky substrate in most shallow water reef environments of the tropical seas, including the Caribbean.
Abundant here in the rocky rubble and patchy small reefs of the shoreline. Seen while snorkeling right off of the sidewalk on my own on a recent Cozumel cruise visit.
