Description:

This is a juvenile Tawny Frogmouth. It is often mistakenly called a frogmouth owl, but it is not an owl. The colloquial name of this bird is the "Mopoke".

Habitat:

It is found throughout the Australian mainland, Tasmania and southern New Guinea. This one was a wildlife rescue, and was found in southern NSW.
