Podargus strigoides
This is a juvenile Tawny Frogmouth. It is often mistakenly called a frogmouth owl, but it is not an owl. The colloquial name of this bird is the "Mopoke".
It is found throughout the Australian mainland, Tasmania and southern New Guinea. This one was a wildlife rescue, and was found in southern NSW.
