They are so very adorable. The island is a turtle sanctuary. When the eggs are laid they cover w a screened cage on top to protect from the birds and other predators. When they hatch, 10% is kept and raised to improve the chances of survival and the rest just make it out to the water. As soon as the kept turtles are big enough, they are tagged and let go. The hatchlings are too small to be tagged.
