This is a Callistemon species (not Metrosideros). It is probably either Callistemon citrinus or Callistemon viminalis.

Delonix has different shaped petals and the pods are woody, more than 1 foot long. Your pods are clearly Caesalpinia.

It's a Greyia species, probably either G. sutherlandii or G. radlkoferi, depending on whether the leaf undersides were wooly (G. radkoferi).
