Crafty photographer. I have the camera on a tripod a few centimeters from the favorite perch. I'm inside the house drinking tea and pressing the wireless shutter release when a hummer lands on its perch.

It's a good quality photo - you could probably crop it some and get a closer view. It'd be spectacular.

Just very occasional views of Costa's here 15 miles north of the border. i was surprised to see several new hummingbird species down in Baja Sur.

Someone suggested this was a captive bird. She was perched on a piece of wire over our deck.
Taken with a tripod and remote wireless shutter.

The key is to use a tripod with remote shutter. If you hand hold with a telephoto there will always be some shake no matter how you brace yourself.
