Also see the bright red tree from your other post. Again, nice shots but would be nice to see a closer up shot of the flowers. I'm sure someone can ID them for you.
Have to see it bloom for an exact ID. Nice clear pictures though.
My big issue is the red pouch area. I have never seen a Brown pelican with a red pouch at any time, breeding or not. I reference my own personal gallery of pelican shots n this FB album https://www.facebook.com/mickstr/media_s...
Standard pelican range or not I do not concur that this is a Brown Pelican P. occidentalis. According to several sources the Peruvian ranges and intermixes with Browns in Southern California with spottings as north as Southern California, on a regular basis.
White pelicans are primarily freshwater species and stay to inland areas. Comments?
I agree with Scott Frazier based on what is visible and the anatomy of the overall flower. The picture shown does not have a similar structure as any of the Adeniums.
I'm not an expert on Peruvian or Pacific Pelican but I do know my Brown Pelicans. I think this is a Peruvian. Pelecanus thagus. See if you agree.
For sure @jamiewgoodspeed, Green Cay. Last weekend.
Thank you. I first had it as a please help me ID with a common name of "I suck at ID of hawks" but took it off.
If it is Crataegus monogyna it may also have very sharp thorns ?
