Looks like parrot flower (Impatiens niamniammensis)
Kind of Tabernaemontana I think.
Perhaps Ardisia elliptica
Kind of Ardisia, Primulaceae family I think.
You're welcome Jason, not like what you think I am in progres of learning about plants, too. I love to watch them around my place and know their vernacular name then I search for the binomials or ask some friends if I don't have a clue or confused. Some of my plants are not identified yet, too.
I've seen the link you gave but sorry I couldn't help, I wish I found it too so I can ask my friends in Flickr for help.
This yellow and purple flowers are not the same. The yellow flower is Yellow alder (Turnera ulmifolia) of Passifloraceae family while the purple is Acanthaceae family I t guess.
Thank you for helping me Jason, I already did my first spotting yesterday.
About this plant, do you ever smell the tip of young leaves? If smells fragrant it could be Zingiber aromaticum since there is another which is not. I have one but never grow that tall, it's about one meter or less. Maybe it's because I pick the tips of young leaves frequently? I love them for Javanese dish called 'bothok', taste excellent to me.
