A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thankyou Alan.
I just joined that group, I am catching up, new here. I have already named 4 types, have dozens to go. I am loving the shared information,
it is great. Thank you!
Who named the slime moulds! They had a fabulous sense of humour. I will be on the look out for moulds now and look forward to more slimy spottings here.
I don't think this is exactly the same as Angel wings, though it might be just a very elaborate individual, though it appeards to grow directly fro moss and not from wood.... .. I definately have some of these though taken just this year; this photo is last Autumn. I will get the positive Angel Wings up!
That is such a great link! Thanjyou. I think I will be able to name dozens of mushrooms I have taken with it, thanks very much indeed for sharing it! I have taken a few hundred photos in the past two Autumns of which I could name about two! It shall be a good study to put names to them. Will take me some time! Thankyou ;)
This has helped me with this name, I've found this fungi too. Perfect Ear likeness, but I don't know about the Judas bit. They look more like Doormouse ears maybe. You have so many fungi, when I get the chance I will look through them all, thankyou for sharing; and I'll get to sharing some I have found the past few years too, since I became obsessed every September and October now hunting for Mushrooms to photograph! I am quite new here and thought it was all animals/creatures at first. So hello fellow Fungi enthusiast, I'm looking forward to browsing your shrooms.
Thank you everyone!
I think this is a male and a female , perhaps waiting for night to fall to mate. Was taken in Ross-Shire, in the Scottish Highlands, at about 7pm one evening in July. There in July it doesn't get dark till about 11pm. I have seen and photographed one of these before there in the summer months, but these two together was a rare treat.
Looking at all the images on Google I can't determine what stands between the zonatus and fasciatus...
Thankyou Podevijn, and Reza. Which shall I choose, Trichius zonatus or fasciatus?? I am not sure yet. I shall go off and decide, but thanks very much indeed to you both. This fellow was great to meet. Ignored me completely, or at least when he wondered what the big lense was up at him he just stuck himself more deeply into the Thistle and kept on eating. Marvellous little creature.
