Sign In to followYes I definitely recommend it, in my eyes it is the best one around =) They already expanded the car park awhile ago but its good the business is getting enough visitors =) while you are there I also recommend you pop over and visit the wildlife hospital, its just on the other side of the parking lot over the bridge last time I was there they were doing $2 sneak peaks tours but you can get a full tour for some more definitely worth it, wonderful place and full of beautiful koalas unfortunately but they will melt your heart =)
that's ok =) no I was volunteering at the wildlife hospital there though for 2 years but I moved to go to uni and now its too far away =( I'm glad it was busy there though they had been experiencing reduced visitor numbers but its unfortunate that you couldn't go in. Maleny is beautiful though!
Yes he is, I think I might have mentioned this in my notes, but he was about to shed and he was very angry because of it. Often snakes become aggressive at shedding because of the clouding in there eyes they cannot see as well and are more defensive.
Yes, Komodos are also a Varanus sp. so they are very much like mini komodos. This one was a very large one too!
Thankyou =)
no this one was in captivity. In Australia you have to go to north Queensland to find them in the wild and even then they are rare to come across unless you are with the right people. They aren't that common in the wild any more. They can be aggressive, they have extremely powerful legs and claws that could make your insides your outsides very quickly! But still they are a fascinating bird. They remind me a lot of a dinosaur...
In Australia this is what we call a daddy-long legs spider and in all the field guides I have never heard of them not building a web. They are extrememly common in my house and they all have webs. I looked up the cellar spider as I had never heard of them being called that and it actually has the same scientific name as I have here. So it possibly is just a different common name as is used elsewhere. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcus_pha...
They are Lantana camara but I think they have many hybrids. In Australia they were introduced and have taken over a lot of native bushland causing lots of problems so they aren't that popular over here. They do have a nice flower but in the wild the bush is very ragged looking and not very pretty.
I went day after day to this park and they were always there striking poses for me. Such cheeky little guys!
