Thanks, I saw the same thing a few weeks ago in a different place but without the seeds, it was attached to the rock I thought, I didn't push hard could have froze. Deer were standing by 2min before I walked by this photo, don't know whats red like that this time of year that would make such pretty puke.

we found it along a four wheel drive road right outside Arches National Park on State land.

Thanks, makes sense because the area is littered with revolutionary war structures and artifacts. Its definitely my favorite plant in the area and I believe that this plant has a part in the Bull Hill Native American myth so I think of it as the 'Remains of the Bull'.
