an expert just now confirmed that both the flowers are different varieties of Nelumbo nucifera.

Both are lotuses??
What is this one? Lotus, I suppose... Which specie?
And secondly, Nymphaea is the genus for Lily, while Nelumbo is the genus for Lotus... That may explain the difference.. Though I am myself very confused about it..
Thanks... Certainly it is white and it is lotus, but the wikipedia link of N.lotus describes a picture with petals quite different.
