Sign In to followI found a book about Mount Kinabalu plants at the university library today. It happened to have a picture of M. frondosa =) Yeah. M. phillipica looks similar, too. Hmmm... How do we decide?
Could they be Mussaenda frondosa? Seems quite similar.
Thanks, guys =)
Yeah =] They look pretty similar. The ones above are approximately thumb-sized.
Arun, you might be right. It looks almost exactly like the one in this picture:

I'll consider the case solved, then. Thanks =)
Right, I've gone and removed the first pic. There can't be very many orchids with yellow stalks and bulbs, right? But nooo, online resources are scarce. Oh well... Time to hit the taxonomy papers... ~_~'
Yeah. Reminds me of crab eyes. Haha ^.^
I found four candidates so far: C. bilamellata, C. xyrekes, C. cuprea, & C. incrassata. Have a look at these:

The second and third pics are, but not the first. They're from the same area, just a few metres apart, so I just thought they'd be from the same species. They aren't, huh? I'll try and find identfication books at the local library next week.
Sorry, false info. That pea pod was from a mimosa...
