The exposure has distorted the colours, but Lars is still right, this is a spitter. i catch these nasties often enough to recognise.
N. melanoleucia's colouring is always darker towards the tail, and would still be visible in this shot.

what about the knysna elephants?
not in natural environment/habitat keep thinking. it is captive.
