I do not believe it is edible... and the only cacti I know of that are edible would be prickly pear... however there are numerous succulents that have edible parts to them...
haha I'm not sure... people say its because they look like little upside down bottles...
I think that is actually another common name for it... I think there is also a mexican blanket flower... lol
