Not 100% but looks more like a longnose gar fry.
Hard to be 100% without seeing the head also.
Beaver dens are much more common now than in the recent past due to very limited trapping being done.In some parts of the Midwest they are actually being a bit of a nuisance in damaging trees in in and around park lakes and camping areas.
Gina is correct,the typical hourglass you would expect to actually varies greatly and may not be present in all due to numerous variables occurring during growth.
I have seen them with the perfect hourglass to none present at through the years.
