Lovely photo... Did you happen to see the upperwing ? If it was a bright clear blue, it is definitely Polyommatus bellargus.

It was seen in Southern Russia along the Georgia border on the slopes of Mount Elbrus and in lower areas further north around Kislovodsk.
I'm more inclined to go with Polyommatus amandus, but I'm far from an expert...

The place I was was closer to Europe than Asia, just on the Georgia border, so I am using the European butterfly mission Martin provided. Next year I'll go to the Asia side. Thanks..
