How can you tell it's an immature White Crowned and not an immature Gold Crowned Sparrow?
It's a type of Lacewing egg, if you look up the Lacewing species in your area I'm sure you will identify it.

Crazy, I found the same species in California only with not as detailed markings. It does have a cosmopolitan distribution.
It is not related to beetles but it can go in global mission The Color Red.
