Its definitely a juvi White Crown. I got the same issue a few years ago...I thought that it could have been a field sparrow because of the bill. But after consulting a couple of other birders who have been birding so long that the birds were still a pair of each...:-D that we determined that it was a juvi white crowned... the way in my mind that I tellthe difference, is that a white crown has that military flat top look to it. :-D

An edible flower. Every flower garden here seems to have them...but only for looks, not to eat...to many chemicals sprayed on them.
