Description:

Cap yellow, with radial wrinkling, sticky to the touch; 2.5 inches diameter; flesh, non-staining when cut. Gills, white, attached to the stem by a notch and a tiny tooth that runs down the stem. Stem, approximately 7 inches with a tapering root; stem doesn’t stain. Cap doesn’t stain with KOH. Spore print, white. Spores, approximately 15-17µ x 7-10µ. No odor.

Habitat:

Lone mushroom growing under muscadine (Vitis rotundifolia) vines in a deciduous forest.
