Chrysolarentia severata

Description:

This geometrid moth with a wing span of 30 mm was grey-brown. Both wings had fine wavy lines of grey, black and white with the fore wings showing a faint ray of pale buff colour along the inner margins, all the way from the wing base to the trailing margin. Each fore wing showed a tuft of short upright grey setae, appearing as a small elongated dark marking on each wing. The trailing margins appear slightly scalloped with a broken black line. The costa were turned-in at the apices.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights near a sports field surrounded by native trees.
