Amazona amazonica
The Curica Psittaciforme is a bird of the Psittacidae family. Also known as Puffin mangrove-aiuru Curuca, kuritzaká (native name - Mato Grosso), curau (Mato Grosso), parrot-Greek aiurucatinga, ajurucatinga, ajurucurau, and ajurucuruca Curuca It is known as Puffin mangrove coast, by inhabiting the training. Probably, this was the first species of parrot found by the Portuguese when they arrived on the Brazilian coast, being very frequent in villages to use their feathers in feather art. Not classified in any category of threat globally, although it is the second most persecuted by the traffic of its kind.
Is widely distributed in South America, mainly in the east of the Andes, from Colombia to southern Brazil. It also occurs along the eastern and southern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru and Bolivia. It is found throughout Venezuela, except in Zulia and Merida, and is widespread in Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. In Brazil, the species is found in the Amazon basin, Amazonas, Mato Grosso (being absent in the southwest of the swamp), Para, Goias, Maranhao, Piaui, Bahia, Espirito Santo, north of Rio de Janeiro, northwest of Sao Paulo and northern Parana .
