Brephidium exilis
The smallest butterfly I've seen yet! I only got one shot of it and the outside of the wings were brown and blue with a blue body. The edges of the wings are white. On the back wings, there are several round spots along the edge.
Unknown dead branch in riparian area.

It is the smallest butterfly in North America. According to butterflycabi.net it is possible that this butterfly is also the smallest in the world. The wing span of the Western Pygmy-Blue is about half an inch making it very hard to detect even if there is a large population present.
