A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cupha erymanthis (Vagrans egista)
about 1" long, light green, 4 sets of red and blue protrusions
tropical forest
I spotted this hanging from a sink outside in Nam Nao National Park. At first I wasn't sure what it was. I thought it was a caterpillar but I gave it a gentle touch and the whole thing squirmed like there was something inside.
I look forward to seeing more your amazing spottings on your next trip! :)
please add this wonderful pupa to the Chrysalises and Pupae of the World mission! http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/1273...
Thanks for the ID EarlyStages. It's great to have this one ID'd. Thanks everyone for the nice comments and the welcome back from ceherzog. It really does look alien!
And I thought Monarch chrysalises looked like they were embellished by jewelers.
