Nilgiri Forest lizard is an agamid lizard, endemic to Western Ghats of India
It's a diurnal, semi-arboreal insectivore and it prefers moist evergreen forested tracts in higher elevations and scrubland habitats.
Spotted at Silent Valley National Park,Kerala,India.

"Get to eye level with a Nilgiri Forest lizard (Calotes nemoricola) in our Spotting of the Day! This arboreal agamid lizard is endemic to the Western Ghats of India, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the eight hottest hot-spots of biological diversity in the world. This species is similar to another Western Ghats endemic, C. grandisquamis. The reference below provides clear criteria to differentiate the two species.
