Description:

Creeping white mold-like fungus that parasitized an elfin saddle (Helvella vespertina or H. lacunosa)

Habitat:

Under Sitka spruce.

Yeah, "Bolete mold" is a little too specific. Guess it's best to stick with the Latin names :)

Very interesting. One ascomycota attacking another. I guess the name Bolete mold doesn't really apply to this species.
