Hi Larry,
after doing some research and contacting a specialist I'm quite sure that it is Hypselonotus lineatus...

Larry and Karen,

I've got some doubts about the correct identification, too - because of the missing spots.
I'm quite sure that the specimen belongs to the genus Hypselonotus - but it may belong to another species.
I've contacted a spezialist for Coreidae. Hope that he can help...

Hey Karen, There seems to be a question about the I.D. here. This spotting doesn't have the spots that the Spot-sided Coreid has. Could it be another species?

Thank you Dan!

The plant it's on looks like Scorpion Tail - Heliotropium angiospermum. Great shots of it and the insect.
