Claytonia virginica
Early spring perennial herb, 3-9 in. tall, arising from a corm. Usually a single pair of stem leaves, petioled, narrow and long. Flowers are showy white or pink, 5 petals, 0.4-0.6 in. long, pink-veined; borne on loose raceme of 4-13 flowers. Blooms February-April.
Mesic forests, lawns, roadsides in eastern USA and Canada.
