Poplar mushroom (αγροκύβη η κυλινδρική)

Agrocybe aegerita

Description:

Agrocybe aegerita, also called Agrocybe cylindracea is an edible mushroom in the genus Agrocybe which is commonly known as the poplar mushroom, because it usually grows on poplar trees, as long as on other broad-leaved tree species, as on plain trees, like this one I had spotted and photographed ;) It was found (but not collected- I never collect wild mushrooms) growing near the roots of a plain tree, in Anavros riverbed, Volos city, Greece.
