Danaus plexippus

Description:

Multi-coloured orange butterfly, with black veins and white spots.

Habitat:

Can be found in a variety of habitats, with a global distribution.

Notes:

Photographed in the Tolga Scrub, one of the last remaining areas of Mabi Rainforest on the Atherton Tableland. I believe this Monarch [Wanderer] butterfly is a female.
