The genus Echiveria is in the Crassulaceae family and originates from central America, Mexico in particular. It is a popular plant in drier gardens.especially in rockeries where the pale succulent rosettes of leaves, more than the delicate flowers are the attraction. The species in this genus readily hybridize and also multiplying the plant from vegetative parts such as individual leaves is easy which results in many garden specimen being hybrids
