Description:

Bee mimicking fly with striped eyes. The wings are clear but dark-veined.

Habitat:

Toyon and Acacia in backyard.

Notes:

This fly is not from the US but is sometimes found in California and Florida. This is my fourth time seeing this fly on our property. Outside the US, it's found in "Portugal, Spain and around the Mediterranean, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, North Africa, The Canary Islands, The Caucasus, Eastern parts of Afrotropical region to South Africa, Nepal Northern Pakistan and Northern India, Iran." - Wikipedia
