Hepatica americana
The flowers have 5 to 12 (often 6) colored sepals range from white through pink, blue and lavender. They grow on slender, hairy stems with 3 green leaves. The leaves have blunt or rounded lobes.
Spotted at the Tamarac Discovery Center. This is a perennial woodland wildflower of early spring. It prefers acid soil and in Minnesota grows mostly in the north and east.
