Black-saddled Toby

Description:

Also known as Valentinni's Sharpnose Pufferfish, Valentine Pufferfish, Banded Toby, Saddled Pufferfish, Saddleback Pufferfish, Saddled Toby Pufferfish, Saddled Toby, Sharpnose Pufferfish and Model Toby. They feed on small invertebrates and algae, and grow to a length of about 10cm.

Habitat:

Found singly, pairs or in small groups in lagoons and seaward reefs with rubble areas, at depths of 1 to 20m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.

Notes:

Spotted this toby, which was sleeping on a rock, during a night dive at Isla Reta Beach Resort.
