Stubborn Worm

Capnodis tenebrionis

Description:

Its been a buggy week this week for me. This one has a very strange name for a beetle, apparently due to the fact that it looks like a large worm. This beetle landed on our roof terrace. It was 2 cm long, dark brown in colour with small white spots and small corkscrew shaped antenna. The larvae of these beetles attack fruit trees.

Buprestidae, Chrysochroinae, Capnodis tenebrionis. Sorry, didn't find a common name besides the German one: Pfirsichprachtskäfer.
