Nephilid Orb Weaver

Nephilengys malabarensis

Description:

Nephilengys malabarensis, same species as http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/897.... The photo shows the spider's underside. This female spider is about 15 mm in length. Bright orange colors can be seen under its head and abdomen. Legs striped white and black.

Habitat:

Gaps in Rose Cabin inn buildings, Kundasang, Sabah.

Notes:

This orb-weaver is one of the largest and commonest spider species that I have ever seen in Kundasang. >>>Map accuracy : 20m diameter.
