Anas platyrhynchos
Not just Mallards but lots of other birds also, the Avocet is obvious as are the 3 Curlew Sandpipers, a common migrant (unless of course they are Knots which should be a bit bigger), some are small Charadrius Plovers, I think the other small ones are mostly Calidris species. Black-winged Stilts are also visible.
By August this area was a desert like most of the rest of the lagoons and what little moisture was left has been sucked up by non-aquatic vegetation which is taking over all over. Consequently, now that the rains have returned after 2 years, when the wintering wildfowl come in there will be very little food of the type they require so they will likely move on after a short stop.
Coastal marshes.

I have added more pictures and shuffled them around so the first picture, which can be viewed at full size, has a lot of small waders if anyone is up to trying to identify them all!
