Grass Snake

Natrix natrix

Description:

I am fairly sure this is also know as the Ringed Snake or Water Snake. There were two of them, one smaller than the other. They were both in a small overgrown river that flows into the sea. While we were watching them they appeared to be trying to grab at a shoal of small fish.
