Beautiful Ellipsidion

Ellipsidion bicolor

Description:

My favourite cockroach. Golden brown with some darker grey-black parts on wing cases, a simple white band at the back of the head within a very clear, glass-like, shell extending beyond head.

Habitat:

Exploring the crevices of the bark on Red Ironbark (Eucalyptus tricarpa)

Notes:

The colours of this go well with the E.tricarpa. Possible membership in Muellerian mimicry complexes.

It's good to leave the fungi alone for a while too. :)

Thank you Harsha. Blattids have an unfairly poor reputation with many people.
