Imperial moth

Eacles imperialis

Description:

Large yellow and purple moth

Notes:

I found this guy resting in the foot path of a walkway at about 9 pm. After taking a picture of him, I tried to gently move him so he wouldn't get squished. He fluttered once and hopped on my finger. I took some more pictures and placed him on a ledge out of shoe range so he could live another day.
